Wanda Sullivan, 91, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020.

She was born Jan. 7, 1929 to the late David McNew and Laura (Blagg) McNew in Butler County. She was of the Baptist faith.

She married the love of her life, Bobbie Joe Sullivan in Poplar Bluff Oct. 7, 1945 and enjoyed 62 years together. They were longtime residents of the Poplar Bluff area. As a homemaker, she also enjoyed many other joys in life such as attending Calvary Community Baptist Church, playing guitar, singing, writing poems and playing in the garden with her flowers.

Wanda is survived by four sons, David H. Sullivan of DeSoto, Missouri, Berry K. Sullivan and Tony E. Sullivan of Poplar Bluff and Timothy W. Sullivan of Sikeston, Missouri; and 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2008; two sons, Bobby Lee Sullivan and Joe Allen Sullivan; one daughter, Carol E. Zurhust; two brothers, Leroy McNew and Darnel McNew; two sisters, Mary E. Morris and Betty Edwards.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2020 in the Fitch-Hillis Chapel. Services are at 2 p.m. in the Fitch-Hillis Chapel with Rev. Shelvie Stephens officiating. Graveside will be following at the City Cemetery.

Attendees are recommended to wear masks and practice social distancing.
