It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Lee (Jess) Wilson, 85, of Fisk announces that he has passed away.
Jess was born on Aug. 25, 1936, to Charles and Ethel (Hardy) Wilson. In 1973 he married Myrtle (Marshall) Wilson, who predeceased him on June 2, 2015. Jess was also predeceased by his parents Charles and Ethel Wilson; siblings, Charles Junior Wilson, Ruth Wilson-Ford, Lois Jeanetta Wilson-Cary-Woodson, Reverend Joel Wilson, Joyce Wilson-Zoll, Nona Wilson-Ryterski, Verlin Wilson and Connie Wilson.
Jess is survived by his children Cheryl Wilson of Henderson, Nevada and Marty Wilson of Trail, Oregon, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jess grew up in Fisk, Missouri and then enlisted in the US Army. After his enlistment he moved to St. Louis and was employed as a truck driver. He eventually returned to Fisk where he remained. After leaving trucking he began to farm, raising cattle and pigs. Jess enjoyed gardening, traveling (but quickly returning to his home) and riding his bike, and he was an avid reader.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Broseley Senior Community Center 2470 County Road 650 Broseley, MO 63932 would be appreciated. Jess truly enjoyed his many lunches there.
Cotrell - Willow Ridge Funeral and Cremation Services is honored to serve the family of Walter Lee (Jess) Wilson.
