Von Ray Van Kirk, 74, of High Ridge, Missouri, passed away on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022.
Ray was born in Poplar Bluff to Cilbert Lee and Agnes Van Kirk. Ray served honorably in the Army in Vietnam and at Fort Riley Kansas.
He married Patricia Sue Randal on June 12, 1970.
They had two children, Linda Sue and Jeffrey Ray (wife Tammy); and grandchildren, Linda Jeanne and Nicole Amber.
Ray then married Sherry Rae (Van Kirk) (Smith) Boyet. They had a daughter, Glenda Rae (Van Kirk) Reed; and grandchildren, Brandon Ray, Zakyie Rae and Noah Ray.
Ray enjoyed going to yard sales, painting yard ornaments and playing bingo. Ray and Gloria Taylor have been in a soul mate relationship since April 2017.
Ray is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Sue; and brother, Glen Van Kirk.
He is survived by his brother, Don Van Kirk of Poplar Bluff; his sisters, Wanda Murray of Poplar Bluff; and Brenda Ward of High Ridge, Missouri; his children and grandchildren.
Ray donated his body to science.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
