Victor Leslie Bagwell Sr., 93, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, completed his earthly journey and was welcomed at the gates of Heaven by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the home of his daughter surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Bagwell was born March 10, 1929, in Poplar Bluff to Sylvester and Charity Heifer Bagwell. He proudly served in the U.S. Army (Korean Conflict) from 1950 to 1952. After receiving his GED, Mr. Bagwell completed TV Technical School in St. Louis. He was the owner of a Furniture and TV Repair store on the South side in the 1960s, and later made residential TV repairs and antenna installations. For many years he was also self-employed as owner/operator for an over-the-road trucking company as well as a building demolition company. He enjoyed going to truck auctions and watching and listening to current news. In his younger years, he enjoyed race car driving.
In May 1950, he married Mary Reynolds in Pocahontas, Arkansas. To this union they were blessed with three children.
Survivors include three children, Gay L. (Allen) Worley, Tammy Everhart, and Victor L. Bagwell Jr.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Barbara James, all of Poplar Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Vernon Bagwell .and two sisters, Edna Oliphant and Imogene Williams.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
