Vernon Leroy Grobe, 77, of De Soto, Missouri, formerly of Hermann, Missouri, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2021 at Hillcrest Care Center, in De Soto.
Mr. Grobe was born Nov. 26, 1944 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, son of the late Vernon Eugene and Elizabeth Jewel (Keena) Bailey. Vernon loved to make people laugh, and enjoyed going to comedy clubs and doing stand-up comedy when he was younger.
In September of 1963 he married Esther Parks. She preceded him death Oct. 8, 2009.
He is survived by two daughters: Theresa (Joe) Parrett and Melisa (Mike) Chaney of Hermann; one daughter-in-law: Cossetta Grobe; 12 grandchildren: Chris, Jesse, Matthew, Joey, Eddie, Kelsey, Spencer, Emily, Gabby, Gage, Brandon and Alyssa; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters: Glenda Barton, Joyce Caldwell and Christine Collins; and three brothers: David, Dale, and Kenny Grobe; and a host of extended family members.
He was also preceded in death by one son: Anthony “Tony” Grobe; three brothers: Eugene, Eddie, and Ronnie Grobe; and one sister: Mary Lois Williams.
Visitation will begin at noon Friday, Dec. 3, 2021 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Collins officiating. Burial will be at Qulin Cemetery in Qulin.
