NEELYVILLE, Mo. -- Velma Jean Tubb, better known to most as "Mamaw", was born on Jan. 25, 1936, to the late Herman Pennington and Myrtle Staats in Qulin, Mo. She departed this life Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

On Feb. 25, 1951, she married Gene "Papaw" Tubb, the love of her life and husband of 67 years and he survives.

She is also survived by five children Diane Smith of Portagville, Mo.; Karen jean Nored of St. Louis, Mo.; Deborah Lee Tubb of Harviell, Mo.; Pamela Marie Wheetley of Harviell, Mo.. and Donald Edward Tubb of Oxly, Mo., as well as 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Caroline Rae Frazier.

In her spare time she enjoyed her grandchildren, sewing, quilting, gardening, spending time and talking with her family and friends, cooking and was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was also the president of the Ambulance Board, where she worked in support of the Ambulance Service by hosting numerous fish fries.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Monday Dec. 4, 2017, with funeral services following at 1 p.m., at Fowler and Sons Funeral Home with Donnie Fowler officiating. Burial will be in the Cochran Cemetery, Harviell Mo.
