Timothy Lee Davis, 72 years old, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on April 28, 2021, at his home. He was born in Cape Girardeau on August 15, 1948 and graduated from Poplar Bluff Senior High School in 1968.
His parents were Carl Davis and Virginia Davis of Poplar Bluff. In 2000, Tim married Carole Nutter Riley. She survives.
Tim is also survived by brother, Cecil R. Davis and wife, of St. Peters, Missouri; his mother, Virginia Davis, of Poplar Bluff; his daughter, Susan Lee Davis, of Cottonwood Shores, Texas and six nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father as well as one brother, Buddy Davis.
Tim served two tours of duty with the U. S. Army in Vietnam. Thereafter, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy, and retired in 1994. In 2000, he went to work at the John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Medical Center, of Poplar Bluff and retired in 2012. Tim enjoyed restoring classic motor vehicles and attending car shows in the area, as well as gardening.
A memorial visitation will be held at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, located on Vine Street on Thursday, May 6 from 10 - 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at the City Cemetery. Military rites will conclude the services at the graveside.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
