NEELYVILLE, Mo. — Thomas “Tommy” Grisham, 50, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Jan. 28, 2021 in the Southeast Hospital at Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

He was born Oct. 15, 1970 at Poplar Bluff to Wayne and Carole Grisham.

On Aug. 6, 2011 at Poplar Bluff, he was married to Sarah Waggoner. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Savannah Grisham and Kameron Grisham of the home; his sisters; Sherry Clayton and husband, John, and Lisa Miller and husband, James, both of Naylor, Missouri, as well as father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gordon and Paula Waggoner of Dexter, and one brother-in-law, Ben Bolton and wife, Beth, of Joplin, Missouri. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, relatives and many friends.

Tommy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dewey and Ethel Grisham and Thomas and Annie Butcher.

He was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and had worked as an insurance adjuster for Missouri Farm Bureau.

He had graduated from Naylor High in 1989 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, an avid Cardinal baseball fan, Naylor school sports, summer league sports and enjoyed being with his family.

Tom served in the U.S. Army National Guard, and was a member of the 1138th Military Police. He served in Just Cause in Panama and Operation Desert Storm. He received the Kuwait Liberation Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Three bronze service stars, National Defense service medal and the Army Achievement Medal.

Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021 starting at 6 p.m. in the Westwood Baptist Church at Poplar Bluff, with the funeral following at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2021 at the Church also. Burial will be in the Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery, at noon. Pastor Steve Proctor and Pastor Greg Kirk officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
