GREENVILLE, Mo. — Shirley Mae Emerson, 86, of Silva, Missouri, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at Clark’s Mountain Nursing Center.

She was born in Belair, Louisiana, April 17, 1934, to parents Luther B. and Winnie E. (Sterling) Brown. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She married Leroy “Roy” Emerson, in a tent at Missionary Acres, on July 4, 1952, and to this union three children were born. She was of the Baptist faith.

Shirley enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and gardening. She was talented with her hands crafting, cooking, and coloring the adult coloring pages. Shirley loved her family especially spoiling her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Leroy C. Emerson; one son: Glenn Emerson; brothers: Percy, Willis, and Ray Brown; sister: Myrtle Morgan.

Shirley is survived by her children: Edwin “Eddie” Emerson and wife Trish of Jackson, Beverly Roach and husband Larry of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren: Brant Roach and wife Shawna, Derek Emerson and wife Chasity, Cody Emerson, Kelli Emerson; great-grandchild: Isabella Roach, Braxton Mabery; several nieces and nephews.

Shirley will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenville City Cemetery.
