FISK, Mo. — Sarah Elizabeth McClanahan, 72, of Poplar Bluff, MIssouri, passed away on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital, in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Mrs. McClanahan was born Nov. 28, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late John and Dorothy Dean Temple.

She was a registered nurse and had retired from John J. Pershing VAMC. She loved nursing and after two years of retirement she worked at Cedargate.

She was a member of New Home General Baptist Church. On Feb. 4, 1989, she married Donald Ray McClanahan. He preceded her in death March 23, 2016.

She is survived by one daughter, Tina E. Laslie of Poplar Bluff; one son, John E. Laslie of LaGrange, Illinois; one stepdaughter, Michelle Windham of Rienzi, Mississippi; two stepsons, Mike McClanahan of Hinckley, Illinois, and Jeff McClanahan, Waterman, Illinois; two sisters, Becky Keiffer of Sullivan, Indiana and Margaret Temple of Poplar Bluff; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating. Burial will be in Brown Chapel Cemetery at Broseley, Missouri
