Ruby Irene Goodrum, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, gently entered Paradise on Saturday, April 18, 2020, in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Goodrum, the daughter of John Henry and Florence Ettabel (Johnston) Greer, was born Jan. 24, 1930, in Fisk, Missouri. She was a faithful member of Highland Church of Christ and was a retired seamstress. Mrs. Goodrum enjoyed sewing, growing shrubs and flowers and working outside. She especially loved to spend time with her family.
She married the love of her life Ollie Eugene Goodrum on Sept. 30, 1949, in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 2003.
Survivors include her children, Ollie E. ‘Buster’ Goodrum, Jr. and his wife, Evelyn, of Hartville, Missouri, Jason Jay Goodrum and his wife, Rhonda, of Riverdale, Utah, Rhonda Sue Taylor and her husband Michael of Williamsville, Missouri, and Anthony Doyle ‘Tony’ Goodrum of Cathlamet, Washington; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Junior Lee Greer of Rainier, Oregon; two sisters, Edna Marie Cassity of Danville, Indiana, and Mary Marjorie Anderson of Reno, Nevada; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Her parents, John H. and Florence E. Greer, three brothers, James Dale Greer, Joseph Henry Greer and Curtis Greer, and five sisters, Pauline Coleman, Virgie Coulter, Elsie Doherty, Floramae Coleman and Ruth Greer, also preceded Mrs. Goodrum in death.
The Goodrum family would also like to acknowledge and thank her caregiver, Rita Williams, who graciously and lovingly cared for their mother as if she was her own. Bless you Rita!
A private graveside service and burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Vernon Curry officiating. The service will be live streamed for family and friends unable to attend.
