Roy C. Nelson Sr.

Roy C. Nelson Sr. of Hillsboro, Mo.. passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019. loving husband of the late Carol Nelson; dear father of Susan Culp, Roy (Sandra) Nelson Jr. and Charles “Doug” (Jackie) Nelson; dear grandfather of eight and great grandfather of three.

He was the brother of Amy Sullivan, Helen Acord and Anne Truelove; dear grandfather of eight and great grandfather of three. He was the son of the late Roy and Lena (nee Snider) Nelson; he also was preceded in death by three sisters.

Roy worked as an electrician in the construction industry and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School in Poplar Bluff, Mo. during the 1950s.

Visitation was on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, Mo. Funeral service was celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 14 at the funeral home Chapel. Interment was in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery with full military honors.
