Robert “Bobby” R. Bemister, 56, of Bloomfield, Missouri passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, while surrounded by his family at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
We have all heard the phrase “lost his/her battle with cancer” but you’re not going to read that here. No one with cancer should ever be considered a “loser” in any way, including those patients who die of their cancer.
Bobby was born Sept. 27, 1965, to Robert Bemister Sr. and Loretta (Gard) Hardin in Norwalk, California. He married Lisa Sue (Sanders) Bemister Oct. 31, 1997, in Corning, Arkansas.
Being a grownup person and being a child are two extremes, but when combined, you get a happy medium, a gray area called being an adult, but still a kid at heart! To know Bobby was to know the true meaning of the phrase, “kid at heart.” He had a way of making you shake your head while simultaneously grin from ear to ear. Bobby liked to watch NASCAR, sing karaoke, hunt, fish, BBQ in his backyard, and relax while cracking open a few cold ones. Bobby enjoyed coaching his daughter when she raced Junior Dragsters for several years.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Lisa; one daughter, Breanna (Zack) Hadley of Dexter; one son, Danny (Ciara) Hicks of Poplar Bluff; two grandchildren, Gavin and Leighton Hicks; his mother, Loretta Hardin of Wappapello; brother-in-law, Johnny (Christi) Sanders; sister-in-law, Kim (Ron) Keeney; three brothers and two sisters.
Bobby is proceeded by his stepdad, Mike Hays.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, from 11 a.m.-noon at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. A memorial service will follow beginning at noon with officiating by Rev. Jim Schremp.
Cotrell Willow Ridge is proud to serve the family and friends of Mr. Robert “Bobby” Bemister. Online condolences can be made at www.willowridgefcs.com.
