Regina Burton Wright, 96, died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born May 26, 1920 to the late Levi and Elva Burton in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She was saved at the age of 16; she was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church and later became a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Wright taught Sunday school, Church Training Union and Missionary meetings in several churches. She made her living with a needle and thread as a seamstress and also worked as a dress shop store clerk.
Survivors include two sisters, Elva Lee Strickland and Lorene Heskett.
Two sisters, Stella June Sullivan and Verbena Vandaslice, preceded her in death.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. The Rev. Steve Patterson will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
