Raymond Vernon Huff, 82, of Poplar Bluff, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2020.
He was born April 16, 1937 in Poplar Bluff to the late Chester and Elsie (Gibson) Huff. He attended the Seventh Day Adventist church.
He graduated from the last log cabin schoolhouse in the Hilliard school district. After graduating, he served his country by joining the U.S. Army in 1960 and served for two years. After the military, he earned his living from his farm. Aside from his two years in the military, he was a life long resident of Butler County.
Survivors include his wife Norma (Hall) Huff, as well as one son, David Huff of Poplar Bluff and one daughter, Katherine Capps of Berrien Springs, Mich.; one brother, Lee Huff of Port Charlotte, Fla., and one sister, Lucy Moore of Odessa, Mo. He also had seven grandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 10- 11 a.m., Thursday, March 5 at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel in Poplar Bluff. Graveside services will be at noon in the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo. Services will be officiated by Pastor Brett Randall. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
