Raymond Ray Bowen passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 at his home in Unity Alpine, California at the age of seventy-seven.

He was born June 4, 1943 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Elic and Velma Bryant Bowen. On April 16, 1966, he was married to Beverly Brame. She preceded him in death in 2017.

Survivors include one son, Brian Bowen of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Clinton Bowen, Qulin, Missouri; three sisters, Murlene Breece, Ellsinore, Missouri, Linda Bridgeforth, Coffee, Missouri and Barbara Butler, Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Raymond Ray joined the United States Marine Corps in 1961 when he was eighteen years old, doing training at San Diego, Camp Pendleton, California. He was in the Cuban Crisis in 1962. He made his home in California since he left the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as an airplane mechanic.

He attended Broseley High School in Broseley, Missouri, Butler County, He was preceded in death by his parents, Elic and Velma Bryant Bowen; a nephew, Christopher Bowen; grandparents, Ezra and Lillie Ashelle Bowen and Ira and Dellas Davis Bryant.

Funeral arrangements were made in Unity Alpine, California.
