Ray Dean Shepard, 81, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away April 15, 2021 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mr. Shepard was born May 24, 1939 in Datto, Arkansas. He was a retired carpenter, farmer and cattle rancher. He enjoyed riding horses, cattle ranching, fishing, watching Cardinals Baseball, and spending time with his grandchildren. Ray Dean Shepard, 81, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away April 15, 2021 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Mr. Shepard was born May 24, 1939 in Datto, Arkansas. He was a retired carpenter, farmer and cattle rancher. He enjoyed riding horses, cattle ranching, fishing, watching Cardinals Baseball, and spending time with his grandchildren. He proudly served in the US Navy and was a member of First Baptist Church in Doniphan.

On January 23, 1971, he married Karen (Gowin) Shepard. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Other survivors include their children, Karen (Rob) Young of Corning, Arkansas, Michael Shepard, Jason Shepard and Timothy (Cheyenne) Shepard, all of Doniphan and Crystal Shepard of Corning; brother, Charles Shepard of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; sister, Helen Lovelady of Corning; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Lorene (Blankenship) Shepard; daughter Lesa Shepard and brother, James ‘J.J.’ Shepard.

Visitation will be Monday April 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral service will be Tuesday April 20 at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Richwoods Cemetery, Corning.
