NEELYVILLE, Mo. — Peggy Joan Richardson passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 88 Aug. 26, 2021.
On Sept. 9, 1932 she was born in Butler County, Missouri ,to the late Chester and Grace Boyers. At the age of 14, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior. Following her baptism, she devoted her life to serving the Lord. She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1951.
In 1952, she married her childhood sweetheart, Richard N. Dickison, who preceded her in death in 1991. She remarried in 1993 to Aurthur C. Richardson, who also preceded her in death in May of 2021.
Joan devoted her life to Christ by being a member of Living Word Baptist Church. She volunteered her time to the widow support group, taught Sunday school classes and various classes for the Awana’s program at her church, and worked in a Christian school as a teachers aide.
She loved being a housewife, as well as being with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed raising a garden and spending time tending her flowers.
She is preceded in death by seven sisters and two brothers. She is survived by two sons, Richard Dickison, wife Kathy of Texas, and Ronald Dickison, wife Julie of Arizona; and one daughter, Peggy Turner, husband Don of Missouri. She is also survived by a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, with visiting beginning at 10 a.m., at Fowler & Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will follow at Sparkman Cemetery in Poplar Bluff. A meal will be served for friends and family at Living Word Baptist Church following the services.
