Paul Mondy, 76, and LaDonna Calene Mondy, 72, of Fisk, MO, died peacefully, surrounded by family, within 30 minutes of each other on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff, MO.

Mr. Mondy was born December 18, 1944 in Broseley, MO, son of the late Roscoe and Dorotha Mondy. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Germany working in missile guidance in 1968. He later worked as a highway inspector for the Missouri State Highway Department for 40 years.

Mrs. Mondy was born Dec. 5, 1948 in Detroit, MI, daughter of the late Calvin and Wanda Williams. She stayed home with her children while they were young and later worked for Butler County as a homemaker for the elderly. She also spent many years working at their family restaurant, Williams Café in Fisk.

Paul and LaDonna were united in marriage on July 9, 1965. Of this union, three children were born. Surviving are two sons: Tim (Laura) Mondy of Centralia, IL, and Chris (Andrea) Mondy of Pea Ridge, AR. Their daughter, Jenifer Mondy Jackson, preceded them in death on June 4, 2021. They are also survived by one son in law: Edwin Jackson; four grandchildren: Ashtyn Mondy, Joshua (Jessica) Mondy, Jessica (Joshua) Johnson, and Rebekah Mondy; three great-grandchildren: Gideon, Elijah, and Micah, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

They were also preceded in death by one grandson: Ryan Mondy. Paul is also survived by two brothers: David Mondy of Broseley and Joe Mondy of Fisk, MO.

In addition to his parents, daughter, and grandson, he was also preceded in death by one brother: Steve Mondy. LaDonna is also survived by two brothers: Dale Williams of Eddy, TX, Tom Williams of Sevierville, TN, and one sister: Lisa McKuin of Fisk, MO.

Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m.in the funeral home chapel with their son, Rev. Tim Mondy officiating. The family requests masks are worn by all attendees.
