Patty Ruth "Pat" Ward, 73, of Arnold, Mo., formerly of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Friday, July 21, 2017, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Pat, the daughter of the late Eldon and Hettie Huskey Osborn, was born May 20, 1944, in Poplar Bluff, and graduated from Poplar Bluff High School. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church in St. Louis County, where she had devoted herself to serving as a Sunday School teacher, as a member of the choir and in missionary work. As her daughter Janice said, "at the age of 16 it was embarrassing but at the age of 25 it was hilarious". Pat was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
On Dec. 28, 1961, Pat married the love of her life, William Jesse Ward in Poplar Bluff. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include three children, William Scotty Ward of Gonzales, La., Patricia JoAnn Kite and husband, Terry, of Arnold, Mo., and Janice Dawn Gibbons and husband, Mike, of Robertsville, Mo.; three grandchildren, Shane and Sydney Ward and Kaela Kite; and a multitude of other loving family members and friends.
