PUXICO — Ouida Jean Bowie-Whicker, age 92, of Puxico, Missouri, passed in the presence of family on Thursday, Oct. 07, 2021, at Puxico Nursing and Rehab in Puxico.
She was born May 27, 1929, in Greenbrier, Arkansas, daughter of the late Elihue B. and Eva V. Bowie.
Ouida had several successful careers in farming, teaching, construction management, fashion and retail.
She is survived by four children: Elizabeth L. Hartman, Jonathon S.B. Roberts, Clemens F. Peters II, and Jackie E. Peters; one brother, John Bowie; one sister, Leatrice Brazil; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Bowie, and one son, Richard Bowie.
Ouida will be missed by her family, friends, business associates, and everyone she came in contact with throughout her lifetime. She had the power to uplift a person and bring out the best in them by simply being herself.
There will be private memorial ceremony at the family cemetery on Oct. 16, 2021.
