Norman Eugene Inman, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 in Poplar Bluff.
Norman, the son of the late Hugh Gene and Ethel Lindsey Inman, was born Aug. 21, 1928 in Butler County. He graduated from Poplar Bluff High School, and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Norman was a member of First Church of God and had retired as a glasscutter for Parkin-Lanning Glass Company. He enjoyed fishing, making lures, woodworking, gardening, painting and doing embroidery work alongside his wife while she quilted. Norman's greatest love was spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He married Frances Marie McGowen on Nov. 5, 1949 in Butler County. In a few weeks they would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.
Other survivors include two children, Robert Eugene (Pam) Inman and Judith Ann (Ralph) Douglas of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren, Corbin (Jennifer) Inman, Chad (Lydia) Douglas, Lance Inman, Craig (Meredith) Douglas and Ashley Inman; 11 great-grandchildren, Tytin Inman, Adeline Douglas, Peyton Katsaliros, Merin Inman, Ralston Douglas, Barrett Douglas, Kinzer Katsaliros, Laird Douglas, Tinley Inman, Liam Douglas and a soon to be baby boy Douglas; four sisters, Dorothy McNeil of Springfield, Ore., Shelby Beardsley of Advance, and Marcella Sievers and Nellie Sullivan of Desoto; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Ben Higgins will officiate. A graveside service with full military honors will be at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
