Norma Gean Stroup, 93, of Bloomfield, daughter of the late Henry and Martha Cates Phillips, was born in the Buckhorn Community, Mo. Nov. 22, 1926, and passed away at her home near Bloomfield Jan. 1, 2020.

She had lived in Bloomfield and Aquilla all of her life. She had worked at Elder’s as a seamstress for 46 years. She was a member of the St. Joe General Baptist Church in Idalia.

On Sept. 18, 1943 she married June Lendon Stroup in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death May 21, 2004.

Surviving are two sons and wives, Jerry and Yolonda Stroup of Lowndes, Harvey and Marla Stroup of Bloomfield; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Menley and three brothers, Floyd, Ernest and Marvin Phillips.

Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Underwood of Shady Dale, Mo., officiating. Interment will follow at the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfieldin charge of arrangements.
