Nancy Marie (Callahan) Peal, aged 87, of Des Arc, Missouri, died after being fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was born on January 24, 1934 in Bismarck, Missouri to Elmer Lee and Mamie Marie (Williams) Callahan. In 1936, the family moved to Poplar Bluff. In her youth, Nancy converted to the Roman Catholic faith at Sacred Heart Church in Poplar Bluff.
She is survived by six children, Nancie Singer of Annapolis, Vickie Bense of Des Arc, Mike (Jane) Peal of Imperial, Carla Dillender of Vulcan, Stephen Peal of Poplar Bluff, Leslie (Jason) German of Des Arc; daughter-in-law Debbie Peal and stepdaughter, Pat Anderson; grandchildren, Eric Peal, Michael Peal, Justin Peal, Devin Dillender, Eric Peal, Sara Peal, Mason German, Denny Bense; stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Jami Massey, Angi Mueller, Mary Singer and Lesli Pinkley; special friends, Genies Burch and Sr. Rita Schonhoff. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Piedmont with Fr. Daniel Hirtz officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. View Cemetery at Des Arc.
