Mary Grace Peterson, 88, a longtime resident of Fort Smith, passed from this life August 24, 2021 in Van Buren. Mary was born December 13, 1932 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Bert and Elsie Harper Greeson. Mary owned and operated Career Placement, Inc. in Fort Smith for many years. She was a former member of Saint Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church.
Mary is survived by three sons, Robert, Michael and his wife Suzanne and Eric; her grandchildren, Garren Peterson and his wife Allison, Grant Peterson, John Ashley Peterson and his wife April, Robert Whitney Peterson and his fiancé Kedeja, Emily McNally and her husband Zach, Tori Highley and her husband Dakota, and Christopher Peterson and his wife Lindsey; her great grandchildren Reece, Hayden, Avery, Jake, Braylin and Draylin Peterson, and Sageleigh, Shepherd and Sullivan Highley. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Merrill ‘Pete’ Peterson; a son David; her parents and two sisters Elizabeth Mickey and Dorothy Francis; and a brother, Pete Greeson.
A Memorial Service was 11:00am Friday, September 3, 2021 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 214 North Sixth Street, Fort Smith.
Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
