Mary Gibbs, 74, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed to the loving arms of Jesus on Sept. 8, 2020, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mary was born on April 22, 1946, to the late Frank and Berniece (Funke) Howard in Michigan.

Mary was a member of Oak Hill General Baptist Church.

She enjoyed raising quarter horses and loved all of God’s creatures. She had been a Butler County Sheriff Deputy, worked at Sears Youth Center and the Butler County Juvenile office.

Mary is survived by daughter, Lori Phelps and husband Scott; step son, Michael Gibbs Jr. grandson, Clayton Phelps; nephew, Don Conrad and wife Katinka; special friends, Scot Kristy and Tanner Robinson; special friends, Dennis and Susan Hall.

Mary was preceded in death by husband, Michael Gibbs Sr, her parents and sister Barbara Conrad.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, from 9-10 a.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Gene Riddle officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
