Mary Lee (Leach) Crowley, daughter of the late Arthur Leach and Ima (Long) Leach was born Sept. 1, 1935, in Ellsinore, Missouri, and departed this life on June 9, 2022, at her residence in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, with her family by her side. She had attained the age of 86 years, nine months and eight days.
Mary had resided in Poplar Bluff since 1958 and was formerly of Ellsinore. She was of the Baptist faith and was a founding member of the Bethel Chapel Church in Poplar Bluff. She enjoyed reading, quilting, crafts, painting and spending time with family. She loved her animals; all her cats, dogs and horses. Mary was very community-oriented; she was involved in the Walton Chapel community, a volunteer ambulance worker in Ellsinore and volunteered at the fire department in west Butler County.
On June 7, 1953, she was united in marriage to Thomas Henry Crowley in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death June 27, 2018.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Ethel Harris and husband, Ronnie, of Carrolton, Georgia, and Vickie Hooker and husband, Gary, of Poplar Bluff; one son, David Crowley and wife, Donna, of Poplar Bluff; one daughter-in-law, Pat Crowley of Poplar Bluff; siblings, Rose Leach and Sherry O’Dell and husband, Wendall; six grandchildren, Jeremy Crowley (Stephanie), Chris Crowley, Heather Zieglemeyer (Mike), Jeff Manis (Melissa), Samantha Handley and Dillon Crowley; 12 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one son, Gerald Thomas Crowley; and siblings, Charles Edward Leach, Emily Rains and Caroline Leach.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 13, in the McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellsinore, with the funeral services being held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. John Crowley and Rev. Scott Reynolds will be officiating. Burial: Walton Chapel Cemetery in Ellsinore.
