NEELYVILLE, Mo. — Louis ‘Sonny’ Nimon, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away February 6, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Nimon was born May 5, 1933 in Caruthersville, Mo to the late Rubin and Nancy (Lewis) Nimon. His landscaping job was like a hobby to him. He enjoyed gardening and flea marketing. He enjoyed horse racing and always wanted to be a jockey...

NEELYVILLE, Mo. — Louis ‘Sonny’ Nimon, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away February 6, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Nimon was born May 5, 1933 in Caruthersville, Mo to the late Rubin and Nancy (Lewis) Nimon. His landscaping job was like a hobby to him. He enjoyed gardening and flea marketing. He enjoyed horse racing and always wanted to be a jockey.

March 13, 1988 he married Ellen Nimon in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death June 12, 2010.

Mr. Nimon is survived by step-son Earl Thurston and wife Donna of Sherwood, Ark.; step-grandson, Christopher Thurston, two step- great-grandchildren and a sister Fay Jones.

He was preceded in death by wife Ellen, parents, and brother L.C. Nimon.

Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 p.m., Sunday, February 10 at Fowler & Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Cochran Cemetery near Harviell, Mo.
