MARSHALL, Mo. -- Lloyd H. Leonberger, 77, of rural Sweet Springs, Missouri, died Thursday, May 24, 2018, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with Rev. Willie Leonberger and William W. Harlow officiating. Burial with full military rites will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Born Nov. 1, 1940, in Broseley, he was the son of the late Roy Leonberger and Minnie Thompson Leonberger. On Dec. 30, 1985, he married Larri Ann Behling who survives of the home. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Tieman-Blackburn American Legion Post 478, and a life member of the V.F.W. Lloyd lived in the Saline County area most of his life where he was a farmer, rancher, and horseman. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Lloyd was active in several local horse clubs and was a member of the Missouri Team Penning Association, where he won numerous awards.

In addition to his wife of 32 years, Larri Ann; he is survived by six children: Mike Mitchell of St. Genevieve, Patty Wright and husband Ron of Grandin, Michael Leonberger, Vickie Leonberger, Pam Turner of Poplar Bluff, and Richard F. Vondrak of Pardeville, Wisconsin; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Willie Leonberger of Auxvasse; three sisters, Shirley Brotherton of Joplin, Faye Smith and Lean Atchison, both of Evansville, Indian; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Bonnie Slaughter and Thelma Baggett; and one brother, Bill Leonberger.
