NEELYVILLE, Mo. -- Leslie Jay Spitzer, 85, of Naylor, Mo., died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Spitzer was born Aug. 27, 1927, at Bells, Tenn. He was of the Baptist faith and was a self-employed auto mechanic. He had lived in Ripley County 40 years and previously lived in St. Louis, Mo.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. He also enjoyed his church, his family and gardening.
On Oct. 27, 1978, he was married to Gloria Marr in Naylor. She survives of the home.
Also surviving are one son, Dennis Spitzer and wife, Deborah, Wentzville, Mo.; one daughter, Deborah Spitzer Brown and husband, Bill, Cedar Hill, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Cynthia Baker and husband, Mike, of Piggott, Ark.; three grandchildren, Katherine Adams, Jason Brown and Zachary Brown; four great-grandchildren, Cooper Brown, Riley Brown, Tristan Adams and Cameron Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Will Spitzer and Ruth Russell Spitzer; six sisters and five brothers.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Mo. Dalton Spitzer and Dennis Spitzer will officiate. Burial will be in Corning Cemetery in Corning, Ark.
