Leroy Dale Lovette, Sr., 84, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at his residence with his loving family at his bedside.

Leroy, the fourth of 11 children of the late John Clifford and Mabel Isabel Lovette, was born April 29, 1935, in Parma, Mo. He was baptized into the Catholic faith. Leroy honorably served his country in the United States Air Force retiring with rank of Master Sergeant. He always enjoyed tinkering with odd jobs and projects on his farm including gardening but was most fulfilled spending time with his family. Later in life Leroy was able to cherish more time working with his brother Raymond and fishing. The greatest loves of his life were his God, his family and his country. He will be greatly missed!

Leroy married Catherine Elizabeth Bonnard, June 26, 1965. She preceded him in death on Jan. 22, 2011.

Survivors include his children, Michael (Teresa) Lovette, Larry (Carol) Lovette, Denise (Jim) Tweddell, Paula (Michael) Williams, Leroy ‘Lee’ (Karen) Lovette, Jr., Kevin (Melissa) Lovette, Karen (Tim) Shannon and Kenneth (Stephanie) Lovette; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers and five sisters.

Two brothers and one sister also preceded Leroy in death.

A Rite of Committal service was held Thursday, April 2, at Kearbey Chapel Cemetery in Butler County, with Father Daniel Robles serving as Celebrant.
