Leon Pulley, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at his home with his wife of 51 years, Bettye, by his side.
He was born March 12, 1939 in Armorel, Arkansas to the late Mr. Avester Pulley and Mrs. Almeda (Vinson) Pulley.
He was a 1959 graduate of Hayti Central High School in Hayti, Missouri. Mr. Pulley was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1961 and retired in 1999 after serving 24 years with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He retired from the City of Kennett in 2009 after 34 years of public service as a Humane Officer. On March 13, 1971, he married the love of his life, Bettye Layne (Brown) Pulley. Collectively, Leon and Bettye had 10 children.
He was an active member of Brown Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Poplar Bluff, Mo. In addition, he was a member of many organizations including the NAACP, Methodist Men, American Legion, NRA, and St. Matthews Grand Lodge A.F.& A.M. Scottish Rite for over 50 years.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church, 500 N. Main St., Poplar Bluff, Mo. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until time of service at noon.
