Kenneth Ray Franklin, 70, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019. He was born on Sept. 29, 1948 to the late Lionel and Mildred Loree Franklin in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Franklin was a member of the South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired after 27 years as Chief of S and D from the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff...

Kenneth Ray Franklin, 70, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019.

He was born on Sept. 29, 1948 to the late Lionel and Mildred Loree Franklin in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Franklin was a member of the South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired after 27 years as Chief of S and D from the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

On March 1, 1969 he married Brenda Alexander in Poplar Bluff. She survives.

Mr. Franklin is survived by his wife; Brenda, children; Mickey Griffin (James), Christopher Franklin (Carrie) and Kevin Franklin (Tricia), brother; Donald Franklin (Mary Jo), sister; Debbie Wells (David), grandchildren; Jamie House, Christen Young, Sara Henson, Kaitlyn Lamkin, Ashley Franklin, Allison Franklin, Madigan Franklin, Cruz Franklin and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. with Pastor Rick White officiating.
