Jurl Brittain, 82, of Puxico, Missouri, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Mr. Brittain was born May 27, 1938 in Caraway, Arkansas, son of the late Don and Naomi Brittain. He attended Brown General Baptist Church in Puxico. He was a member of the Mingo Saddle Club and American Quarter Horse Association.
On Jan. 14, 1959, he married Bettie Jean Miller. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters: Shelia (Rick) Bowlin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Valerie (Todd) Pierce of Sikeston; one son: J. (Stacy) Brittain, Jr. of Puxico; six siblings: Pat Darnell, Barbara Smith, Shirley Deprow, Bullet Brittain, Glenda Gutterman, and Bill Brittain; five grandchildren: Jared (Kori) Smith, Bridgett (Sam) Stephenson, Canon (Leslie) Smith, Joshua (Sindy) Pierce, Ethan Brittain; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six siblings: Callie Marie, Joyce, Pete, Gene, Jerry Brittain and Debbie Rainwater; and one granddaughter: Casey Jean Smith.
Due to current circumstances there will be a private family graveside services at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley with Rev. John Buttry officiating.
