It is with great sadness the family of Judy Ann Maupin, 72, announces her passing after a brief illness on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2107. Judy grew up in Caruthersville, Mo., the daughter of Joseph B. It is with great sadness the family of Judy Ann Maupin, 72, announces her passing after a brief illness on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2107.

Judy grew up in Caruthersville, Mo., the daughter of Joseph B. Weddington and Oma M. Weddington (McClendon). She left the area after marrying James LeRoy Maupin, United States Air Force. After 23 years living in Europe and all over the United States, Judy and family returned to the Bootheel area. Judy had an oversized personality and easily made friends wherever she went Her loving kindness was unsurpassed unless you interrupted her getting whipped into a fury watching Judge Judy. She will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

She is survived by one son, James Michael Maupin, Houston, Texas; two daughters, Terri Lynn Pangborn, and her husband, Rodney, North Pole, Alaska, and Cathy Maupin - Wappapello, Mo.; one brother, Michael Joe Weddington, Caruthersville, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Tov'e Michelle Webster and her husband, Jerrod, San Diego, Calif., Brandi Lee Modler and her husband, Jon, Las Vegas, Nev., Sebastian Bailey Maupin, Katy, Texas, Cody John Mars and Victoria Fall Pangborn, both of North Pole, Alaska, Sean James Parker, Wappapello, Mo. Rodney Malary Pangborn North Pole, Alaska; four great-grandchildren, Hayden, Haylee, Aurora, Abel, and a number of other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Oma Weddington; her husband, James Maupin; three brothers, Jack, Ted and Melvin Weddington, and one sister, Patsy Alexander.

Memorial services were held In Caruthersville Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at 3 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel.
