Judith A. Smith, age 78, of Poplar Bluff, died Friday June 4, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital. Mrs. Smith was born November 19, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter of the late Cletus and Mildred Schneider.
She was an elementary school teacher for most of her life and retired from the Poplar Bluff School system in 2003.
On November 28, 1968 she married Bill Smith. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Susan & Michael Dobbs of Bryant, Arkansas and Carin & Joey Young of Poplar Bluff; one son, Matthew & Kristy Smith of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Jeanne Boedges of Maryland Heights, Missouri and Jackie & Michael Digby of Glendale, Missouri; one brother, Jim Schneider of Troy, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Zachary & Kayla Dobbs, Savannah Dobbs, Tyler Dobbs, Emily Young and Ethan Young, Matthew A. Smith and Kaylee Smith.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff. Graveside services will follow at 4 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Father Daniel Robles officiating.
