John Edward Ward, 77, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in his home Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020.
John was born Aug. 26, 1943 to Birl and Geraldine Ward in Poplar Bluff. He married Earline Hale Sept. 24, 1965 in Poplar Bluff.
John was a lifetime member of Bethel Chapel Church. He was a hard-working farmer who loved his cattle. John enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a member of the Butler County Volunteer Fire Department.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Earline Ward; two children, Shelia (Mike) Coleman and J.D. (Ponda) Ward, all of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, Bryce Ward, Bradley Coleman, and Kirby Coleman; two brothers, Wesley Ward and Carl “Butch” (JoAnn) Ward of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Sharon Ward of Poplar Bluff and Patricia (Leon) Kirkley of Birmingham, Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews
John was preceded by his parents; two sisters, Brenda Bounds and Emma Stout; and one niece, Pam Montgomery.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020 at Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2020 also at Grace Christian Fellowship Church with officiating by Rev. Carlos Boyer and Rev. Brian Sharp. Burial will take place at Sparkman Cemetery.
Face masks will be optional at all services.
