Jimmy Melton, age 84, of Piggott, Arkansas, died Sunday, May 2, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Melton was born March 19, 1937, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. On Aug. 13, 1999, he married Ruby Capps. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons: James Melton, of Piggott, Arkansas and Jimmy Lee Melton of St. Louis; three daughters: Connie Hurt, of Piggott, Karen Blake, of Oklahoma, and Peggy Bulliner, of Poplar Bluff; nine grandchildren: Cheyanne, Alonzo, Danny, Josh, Ashley C, Ashley L, Megan, Brittney and LeAnna; and many great grandchildren.
His granddaughter Cheyanne was very special to him; she cared for him from the time he was diagnosed with cancer until he received his angel wings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three children: Freddie, Richard and Ricky; three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at White-Sanders Funeral Home, in Qulin. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev Jim Sanders officiating.
Burial will be at Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
