Jimmy Lee Champion, 44, of Williamsville departed this life unexpectedly in the early morning hours Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Jimmy was born Oct. 14,1975, in Poplar Bluff to Jim R. and Mary Champion. Jimmy was a 1994 graduate of Poplar Bluff high school. He went on to lead a successful career as a lead HVAC technician.
Jimmy enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his daughter. He loved American muscle cars and drag racing and building motors for cars. He was a generous person who loved helping others. He was a very hard worker and no job was too big or small.
In March 1996 he met the love of his life. On April 25, 1998, he married Sacha Dreyer at the Grace United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff. She survives of the home.
On Oct. 20, 1998, the second love of Jimmy’s life was born. Hailey Rachelle Champion, his beloved daughter, survives of the home also.
Other survivors include his honorary mother, Patricia Dreyer of Williamsville; his honorary sister, Becky Dreyer, and brother, Dylan March, both of Poplar Bluff; his honorary grandparents, Al and Theresa Gulledge of Poplar Bluff; and niece, Alyssa Hiles of Clarksville, Tenn.
He is also survived by his parents of Poplar Bluff; brothers, Jeremy and David Champion of Poplar Bluff; grandmother, Linda Bosse of Poplar Bluff; nieces and nephews, Crystal, James, Cheyenne and Damien Champion, all of Poplar Bluff and a host of other family and friends.
Jimmy was a loving and devoted father, a beloved son and a soulmate to his wife. He will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020 at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff. A ceremony will follow at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jimmy’s name to the Al and Theresa Gulledge building fund c/o Danielle Tyler account at Ozark Credit Union in Poplar Bluff.
