Jimmy Gale Dollins, 64, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.

He was born July 19, 1955 in the Coon Island community to the late Roscoe Dollins and Nona (Chidester) Dollins.

Jimmy and his wife, Cynthia Magruder, wed in Neelyville, Mo. Aug. 17, 1973.

He served his country by joining the U.S. Army in 1979 and served for 10 years. After the military, he worked at Boycom Cable as an installer.

Jimmy was a long time resident of Butler County. He enjoyed fishing and watching wildlife. He attended Lord’s Chapel.

Survivors include his wife as well as one son, Jimmy Gale Dollins, Jr. and one daughter, Christina Dollins, both of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, Wayne Dollins of Wappapello, Mo., Harry Dollins of St. Charles, Mo. and Gary Dollins of Benton, Ky.; and one sister, Brenda Peterson of Delta Junction, Ark. He also had two grandchildren.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel in Poplar Bluff. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. officiated by Rev. Rowdy Boyer in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
