Jimmie Bowman

Jimmie Lee Bowman, son of the late Luther and Louise (Miller) Bowman, was born March 18, 1946 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., and departed this life Jan. 13, 2020 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He had attained the age of 73.

Jimmie had resided in Poplar Bluff for the past three years and was formerly of Tennessee. He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed working, helping others and spending time with his family. Jimmie was very kind and compassionate; he was always putting others before himself. He was a loving father, husband and was a wonderful loving grandfather.

On Dec. 28, 2019, he was united in marriage to Regina Poole.

He is survived by his wife, Regina Bowman of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one son, David Bowman and wife, Alberta of Ellsinore, Mo., one daughter, Angie Bowman of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one step-son, Brandon Poole of Saint Louis, Mo.; three brothers, Bob Bowman and wife, Sharon, of Ellsinore, Mo., Dean Bowman and wife, Linda, of Festus, Mo., and Keith Bowman and wife, Cindi, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one sister, Viola “Pud” Williams and husband, Moyl, of Paragould, Ark; two grandchildren, Cassie Downs and husband, Dustin, Adriane McDaniel and husband, Jesse; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt Downs, Annah Downs and Tyler Downs.

In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Pettit, and one brother, Charles Bowman.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 in the Joplin/New Hope Cemetery in Ellsinore, Mo.
