DONIPHAN, Mo.--Jerry Wayne Meador, 60, of Doniphan, Mo., died Saturday, July 8, 2017, in the emergency room at Southeast Health of Ripley County.
Mr. Meador, son of William and Eve (Hall) Meador, was born Dec. 23, 1956, in Hayti, Mo. He had been employed in construction. Mr. Meador enjoyed gardening, hunting, riding his motorcycle and being with family, especially his children.
On Dec. 23, 1988, he was married to Scarlett Rodgers in Portageville, Mo., and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters: Kimberly Thompson and Madison Elizabeth Meador, both of Doniphan; three sons, Dalton Wayne Meador of Doniphan, Michael Meador of Pine Knot, Ky., and Jay Porter of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one step-son, Adam (Heather) Myers of Dumas, Ark.; three grandchildren, Ashlee, Hailey and Megan; seven step-grandchildren, Logan, Josh, Ava, Jaxson, Chase and Cesily Thompson; one great-grandchild, Aria; and one son-in-law, Steven Thompson.
Mr. Meador was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Betty Forthman, Faye Holder and Joyce Hampton; two brothers, Billy Meador and Terry Meador; and one grandchild.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Float Camp Pavillion in Doniphan. In honor of Jerry's love of barbecue, food will be provided.
