CORNING, Ark. — At the age of 3 years, Jayce Leon Malone passed away peacefully on the morning of March 25, 2019, just after the local trash truck, that he loved to watch and listen for, made its weekly stop outside his home.
After his lifelong battle with MLD, an ugly nasty beast that leaves a trail of destruction, he left the pain, and left us. We will never be the same again. He fought MLD as hard as he could, like the little Superman he was. He brightened every single person that came in contact with him. Those who knew Jayce, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. He touched the lives of so many. He was our beloved, shining, happy boy, the light of our lives and the star of our heart. And while we may be so sad, his memories leave us smiling through our tears.
We can picture him in heaven, his radiant smile, that shiny blonde hair, and his arms stretched wide. We can’t wait to feel his arms around us again, and enjoy strolling over heaven with him. We can imagine him running as fast as his little legs will carry him, climbing to the highest point he can reach, and swimming in the glorious river of life.
Jayce was born on January 26, 2016 in Little Rock, Ark. He had a love for trash tracks, clocks and dirt bikes. He was known most for his good looks and million dollar smile. He loved his family, church and his dog named biscuit. He was a member of the Big T Apostolic Church.
He is survived by his mother, Carrie Malone; sisters, Annabeth and Chloee Malone; grandparents, Pastor Bryan and Linda Malone and Roy and Louise Miller; great-grandmother, Pearlene Cagle; aunts and uncles, Jay and Stephanie Malone, Richard Malone, Josh and Stephanie March; as well as several cousins, Parker Malone, Tyler Malone, Lyla Malone, Kaitlyn March, Zachary March and Emily March.
The family would like to personally thank Jayce’s pulmonologist, Dr. Saumini Srinivasen, his neurologist, Dr. Namrate Shah at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. His Child Life Specialist Lynley Voges, was also a great help to the family.
We fight for a cure until no other child is robbed of their childhood, no other sibling loses their best friend, and no other parent has to bury their “bubba.”
Visitation will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27 at the Big T Apostolic Church in Corning, Ark.. The funeral will follow on Thursday, March 28 at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Bryan Malone and Rev. Eric Hampton officiating. Burial will take place in the Corning Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Jayce’s memory to the FedEx Family House in Memphis, Tenn. or to the MLD Foundation.
