Jay “Perry” Perrottet Niskey, 83, of Dallas, Pennsylvania, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend passed away on May 16, 2022.
Perry was born to Jay Miller Niskey and Ervanna Hall Dutton Niskey Nov. 30, 1938, in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania.
His passing was followed by his oldest sister’s demise, Marian Niskey Roy, on June 23, 2022.
Perry was a devoted Master Mason, Mason Knights of Templar, Scottish Rite and an avid Boy Scout. He was a veteran of the Air National Guard and an active member of Shavertown United Methodist Church.
He was the owner of Bowman Petroleum, Inc., and served as an officer of the National Oil Jobbers Association. He and his wife, Alice, enjoyed traveling to many different countries and passed that love down to their children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family at their vacation homes in Arizona and Pennsylvania. Perry and Alice never missed an event for their grandchildren whether it was a marching band competition, horse show, baseball or soccer game.
Perry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alice Barnhardt, and their two children and spouses Susan Niskey and Jim Popp, Karen and Tom Gurzynski and grandchildren and their families Peri Niskey and Collin Green, Kyle Gurzynski, Sarah Gurzynski, Cory and Lauren Popp, Dana Popp, great-grandchildren Mira and Juniper Popp, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his youngest sister Dr. Jayne Niskey of Williamsville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Shavertown United Methodist Church, Shavertown. Pennsylvania. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
