DEXTER, Mo. -- James Thomas Woods, 70, of Puxico, Mo. died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at his residence in Puxico.
He was born on Sept. 17, 1941 in Shaw, Miss. Mr. Woods was a veteran of the United States Army, a pastor and a farmer. In December of 1967 he was married to Lucye Brantley in Cleveland, Miss. Mrs. Woods survives of their home in Puxico.
Other survivors are three sons, Joseph Thomas Woods of Mississippi, James C. Woods of Puxico and John Earl Woods of Red Rock, Okla.; one daughter, Michelle K. Pipkin of Pocahontas, Tenn.; one brother, Wesley Woods; one sister, Sue Vasser of Horn Lake, Miss.; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Puxico. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church in Puxico with Rev. Bill Garrett officiating. Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
