James ‘Jim’ Raymond Chatman, age 75 of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. He was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, August 1945 to the late Uel Travis Chatman and Velma Lee Uhl Moore.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Lynette Sullins Chatman of more than 51 years; his two daughters, Jamey Rae Chatman Allbaugh and Holley Jae Chatman Mott and Will Barbour; his five grandchildren, Demey Taylor, Ashley Allbaugh, Levi Mott, N.J. Mott and Sora Barbour and his brothers, Kenny Chatman and Eldon Chatman, as well as his sister, Norma Fox and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded by his mother, Velma Moore; his father, Uel T. Chatman; his sister, Fern Chatman and his brother, Calvin Chatman.
Jim was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a man of God and a member of First Pentecostal Church, North Little Rock, Arkansas. He previously attended First Pentecostal Church of Durham, North Carolina, and Cornerstone Tabernacle of Poplar Bluff. He was a skilled carpenter by trade and could build anything. He was an avid fisherman, loved growing flowers, gardening, and inviting people to church.
Per Jim’s request Services were private and interment was at Arkansas Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jacksonville, Arkansas.
