VAN BUREN, Mo. — Inez M. Harvatin, daughter of the late Alva and Avo (Groblebe) O’Dell was born February 12, 1921 in Ellsinore, Mo., and departed this life on March 18, 2019 at the Westwood Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She had attained the age of ninety-eight years, one month, and six days.
Inez had resided in Poplar Bluff for the past twenty years and was formerly of Van Buren. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Before retirement, she was a licensed beautician, an operator for a phone company and a dietary associate for a nursing home and hospital. Inez enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, fishing, knitting, camping, and traveling.
On June 10, 1950, she was united in marriage to Joseph F. Harvatin in Steamboat Springs, Colo.
She is survived by one daughter, Terri Whitten and husband Dan of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Betty Lou Wallace of Wood River, Ill.; one brother, Jerry Oliver of Fla.; one grandson, Dustin and wife Meagan of Poplar Bluff; one great granddaughter, Kaylee of Poplar Bluff; and other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harvatin; seven brothers, Ray O’Dell, Ed O’Dell, Floyd O’Dell, Lloyd O’Dell, George O’Dell, James O’Dell and Sonny O’Dell; and two sisters, Verna Dahlen and Evelyn Boots.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the McSpadden Funeral Home in Van Buren., with the funeral services following at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev.
