NEELYVILLE — On Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, I.D. Hill passed away at The Fremont Assisted Living in Springfield, Mo., with family by her side. I.D. was in her 92nd year of life.

Mrs. Hill was born on Oct. 21, 1926, in Okolona, Miss. to Lucy Jane (Parker) Watson and Charlie Parker. She enjoyed singing gospel music, gardening, bingo and farming, alongside of her husband and family. In 2006, I.D. was chosen as Mother’s Day Mother of the Year.

The sixth of six girls, Mrs. Hill retired from Doctor’s Regional Medical Center after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a member of New Morning Star MB Church in Neelyville, until its closing, then Mount Calvary Powerhouse Church in Poplar Bluff, until moving to Springfield, Mo.

On August 1, 1949, I.D. married Frank Hill Sr., who preceded her in death on January 16, 2006. Together they raised eleven children.

So deeply sadden by I.D.’s passing, the family does not mourn as those who have no hope. As her memory and body failed and her days on this earth (our temporary home) waned, those who hurt most will fill the void caused by her passing are daughters, Eardie Carter, Margaret Moss (O.T.), Jan Ethridge (John) and Jennifer Hill, all of Poplar Bluff, Beulah Duncan (Darryl) of Springfield, Mo., Annie Redd (Charles) of Dallas, Texas, Cubie Anderson (Michael) of Cordova, Tenn. and Marvel Burgess (Jerry) of Houston, Texas; sons, Frank Hill Jr. (Sandy) of Poplar Bluff, Kent Hill and Jim Hill (Jamie) of Springfield, Mo.

I.D. was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Sr.; granddaughter, Lavonda Redd and all five of her sisters.

I.D. is survived by all eleven of her children; grandchildren, Charles Jr., Angie, Jamie, Leatrice, Coby, Coleah, Tonya, April, Kentessa, Raphael, Maurice, Jim Jr., Ivy, Dallas, Tyler, Autumn Rose, Beth, Jamie, Mary Ann, Tonya and Crystal; 18 great-grandchildren.

A big hug to the wonderful staff of the Fremont Assistant Living and Haven Hospice Services of Springfield, Mo.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at Fowler & Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville. The funeral will follow at noon in the funeral home with Pastor Ronnie Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Bluff Cemetery.
