MALDEN, Mo. — Herrald Lemuel Hamlett, 97 of Malden, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Herrald, son of Hershell and Elsie Kincannon Hamlett, was born on Sunday, Aug. 17, 1924 in Arbyrd, Missouri.
He was the manager of Demaree Oil Company and attended the Assembly of God in Malden. He was a veteran of the United States Army/Air Force having served during World War II.
On Dec. 13, 1947 in Piggott, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Virginia Mikel. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Ronnie Hamlett of Poplar Bluff, Darrell Hamlett and wife, Dena, of Malden, Donald Hamlett and wife, Brenda, of Campbell; 19 grandchildren; Jennifer, Karrie, Angela, Heather, Billy, Tony, Stacy, Justin, Jake, Whitney, Jerred, Jeannette, Donald Jr., Rodney, Victoria, Dalton, Nolan, Alaric and Lavinia; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Jane Cluck of Malden, Virginia Malone Nell and husband, Gerald, of Alamo, Tennessee.
He was preceded by his parents; one son, Gary Hamlett; one daughter, Janet Funderburg; granddaughter, Cassanda Hamlett; three great-grandchildren; one brother, David Hamlett; five sisters, Lucille, Flora, Essie Marie, Eula Mable and Francis.
Visitation was Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 14, 2022 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Thrasher officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
Landess Funeral Home of Malden will be in charge of the arrangements.
