Henrietta Rehagen Luecke in the comfort of her home and surrounded by the love of her family left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior and join her beloved Clarence on the 28th day of December, 2021.

She was the eldest of five children born on the family dairy farm in Rich Fountain, Missouri, on the 18th day of October, 1924 to John and Ida Rehagen. She married Clarence Joseph Luecke on the 5th day of June 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri, where they lived and raised their seven children until their retirement to Poplar Bluff in 1986.

Known to family and friends as ‘Etta’ she was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Clarence; two sons, Mark Luecke and Tom Luecke; one grandson, Jesse Johannes; two brothers, Michael Rehagen and Elias Rehagen; and two sisters, Lucy Lamb and Agatha Maasen.

She is survived by her sons, Ken Luecke and his wife, Cindy, Greg Luecke and his wife, Sue, all of St. Louis, and her daughters, Kathie Schmid and her husband, David, of Chesterfield, Jeanette Clark and her husband, John, and Michelle Jones and her husband, Bill, all of Poplar Bluff; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, a brother. George Rehagen and his wife, Joanette, of Osage Bend, Missouri and a very dear and special friend and caregiver, Rhonda Lewis of Greenville, Missouri.

She was known by all as a strong, hard working, loving, caring, deeply religious, very active person. Her strong work ethic and refusal to give in to her advancing years was evidenced by her falling and breaking her hip at 93 years of age while power washing her concrete patio. She was determined to continue doing the things that made her happy, being with and enjoying her family, cooking, cleaning, yard work, canning, quilting, and lending her time and talents with her Church Family at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was an active member of St. Anne’s Altar Society. When she and Clarence retired to Poplar Bluff in 1986, she started the first Al-Anon Chapter in Poplar Bluff. Together she and Clarence helped countless people struggling through very difficult times.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, January 4th at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the organization of your choice or to the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery Fund through the Church Office at 825 Vine Street, Poplar Bluff, MO, 63901.
